This Sunday I’m going to be attending my first crop in over two years. As step one to prepare I redid my supply book. Before it was just a collection of cardstock held together with a binder ring. I decided since I was using it quite a bit when shopping, sketching, and such I needed to put it in something that would hold up. I went to Staples and got a 5.5×8.5 binder (The Avery ones were on sale for $3 with easy rebate) although I loved the Martha one…I couldn’t bring myself to spend $10 on it. Inside I have 5 dividers, inks/markers, stamps, punches and dies, embellishments, and sketches. Each stamp set is stamped on it’s cardstock page.
Under the embellishments tab I have a small piece of each washi tape I own, twine, stickles, and paint.
I decided to decorate the cover of the binder. At first it was just the washi tape. Then I decided it needed a title. I cut the chevron with my Silhouette (it’s a 3×4 PL shape) and then added the title with Little Boy stickers and couple For the Record ones. After taking the photo I added the word sketches to it as well.
I enjoy sketching sometimes from my mind sometimes lifting from a layout or card I find online or in a magazine. I got this grid paper to fit in my binder and drew cards for this page with 1 sq = 1 inch. So when I’m at my crop and I pull a photo and paper to work with I can easily find a sketch that would work. I don’t build kits for crops. I feel that if I pull it before why not go ahead and make the layout. So I put a bit of paper, basic supplies, and photos into a bag and go from there.
Hopefully next week I’ll be able to share a post about what I took to my crop.
Thanks for reading and happy crafting! <3 Ann
