The Hub

I took this photo on One More Disney Day around 9am. I did do a bit of fun editing to to bring out the pink the tree. Which doesn’t come off well in the photo. I started this layout with one element. that small stamped “My Happy Place” banner. The black cardstock is 6×8. The butterflies are each a different medium. The smallest is a sticker I picked up in the Studio Calico shop, the pink one is a wood veneer one  misted in Sunset and the blue is a mistable with Powder Blue.

The yellow button, twine, paper, and tab are all from So Cal kits. The title is the Stepping Stone alphabet with the HeyDay collection. I did the solid in Wet Cement and then did an off outline with the same soft pool I used for the banner stamp.  The black button is a Jenni Bowlin that I picked up at my LSS a couple weeks ago.

Me: A quick layout

I stopped by Our Paper Place Saturday with nothing in mind. Really I hadn’t even planned on going, but happen to be “in the area” and stopped in. I saw the new Hello Summer Echo Park collection and picked up the 6×6 pad for some summer birthday cards and some 12×12 sheets for some scrapbooking.

This layout actually started out as a card…in a way. I pulled several sheets from my new 6×6 pad and they ended up laying next to this photo. The colors really drew me in. I decided to take the same idea for the card and expand it to the layout. The border is from Dots and Stripes and the title is from Little Boy.

I made a layout!

So my LSS, Our Paper Place, issued a challenge this week to create a layout using punches. Until a couple months ago I really only owned 2 punches. Last week I bought a couple during a sale at Michael’s. So I thought about it and I had this idea when I first bought the 1.5inch circle punch last week.

I used Amy Tangerine’s Sketchbook 6×6 pad and punched quite a few circles. and then used my sewing machine to add the lines through the circles. I used some old Jillibean alpha’s I’ve had a while to do the 12. I used my new Hero Arts/Studio Calico stamps for the subtitle. I honestly bought this set of stamps because of the butteries and the “She believed she could, so she did” because of my Disneyland trip.  I did a tiny bit of journaling on a circle and added it to the layout via a pop dots.

It’s a simple layout, but for my first layout in 5 months I love it.
